Routine Exams & Cleanings
Bringing your child into our office every six months is one of the most important aspects of their dental hygiene routine. This allows us to accurately monitor their development and recognize any problem areas before they get out of hand. Each visit will consist of a thorough cleaning and any additional preventive treatments they may need.
Fluoride Treatments
For children who need a bit of extra protection against cavities and decay, additional fluoride can be applied in the form of a gel, foam, or varnish. Fluoride is a natural mineral that strengthens a tooth’s enamel and helps ward off cavity-causing bacteria. After fluoride is applied, make sure your child refrains from eating for at least 30 minutes.
Dental Sealants
A dental sealant is a plastic-like coating that protects your kiddo’s tiny teeth from cavities and decay. Teeth are filled with small crevices that accumulate bacteria and leftover food particles, leading to damage. Sealants are painted onto the crowns of the teeth, most often the molars, to lock out this bacteria and food.
